Why does this return seconds instead of hours:minutes:seconds?

The calculator returns a single number (total seconds) so you can do further arithmetic. To display as H:M:S, divide the result by 3600 for whole hours, take the remainder and divide by 60 for minutes, with the rest being seconds.
